Pereg Wheat Berry Risotto with Machane Yehuda Spice Blend

This wheat berry risotto is a sweet and savory side that is fast to prepare and beautiful to behold. The spice blend mixture I used was a gift from my cousin in Israel who knows I have a hankering for “shuk spices”.  Little did she realize that I would ask her this week to find out the name of that spice so I could share it on my blog!

She more than happily obliged, and by the time I awoke the next morning, she had “Whatsapped” me a clear photo of it with its proper name, “Taaruvat Habayit L’orez Peirot Yevashim” or “House Blend for Rice Dried Fruit”. #BestCousinEver #FiveKids #NoCar #LoveHer

This recipe showcases the delicious al dente texture of wheat berries combined with dried fruits and garinim. A real taste of Israel.
